Audiology Services
Le Bonheur Audiologists specialize in the prevention, identification, assessment and non-medical treatment of disorders of the hearing and balance system. Our audiologists assess the hearing of children who have identified hearing loss or those who may be at risk for hearing loss or other auditory problems.
Hearing evaluations can be performed on children of all ages, including babies only a few hours old. Le Bonheur Audiologists provide hearing screening, middle-ear testing, sound-booth testing and electrophysiological testing as appropriate for our pediatric patients. When hearing loss is identified, a treatment plan is devised by our audiologist together with the patient’s family. This may include fitting of appropriate amplification (e.g. hearing aids, FM system or cochlear implants) and referrals for early intervention and aural habilitation.
All outpatient audiology services require a referral from the patient’s primary care physician or pediatrician.
