Pediatric Surgical Group Joins Le Bonheur, The University of Tennessee Health Science Center
Pediatric Surgical Group has joined The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital’s specialty group, UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists, effective Aug. 1.
Made up of five board-certified pediatric surgeons, Pediatric Surgical Group has a long history of providing expert pediatric surgical care to Le Bonheur patients. The practice was formed in 1970 and has provided surgery services to patients at Le Bonheur for many years.
“Bringing this additional group of specialists into ULPS strengthens both our partnership of providing the best care and moving the academic mission forward,” said UTHSC College of Medicine Executive Dean David M. Stern, M.D. “We are now closer to achieving our joint goal of becoming a comprehensive group of pediatric specialists able to meet the health care needs of all of our children with our wonderful partners at Le Bonheur.”
Pediatric surgeons in the group are: Max Langham, M.D.; James W. “Trey” Eubanks, M.D.; Eunice Huang, M.D.; and Alex Feliz, M.D. Pediatric surgeon Doug Hixson, M.D., will continue to serve as medical director of Le Bonheur’s Operating Room services.
The group sees patients at Le Bonheur’s Outpatient Center on Washington Avenue and on Estate Place in East Memphis. Office hours and contact information will remain the same.
“We have been a very close partner of Le Bonheur for decades,” said Dr. Trey Eubanks. “We feel certain that our mission of excellent clinical care, dedicated teaching, community service and scientific research will reach new heights through this new partnership.”
“These pediatric experts are some of the country’s best at providing comprehensive, complex care for children,” said Le Bonheur President and CEO Meri Armour. “They are passionate about children’s health and help us illustrate why children’s hospitals are vital to children.”
UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists now includes 114 physicians in 21 subspecialties, and continues to serve as the region’s only multispecialty pediatric practice focused solely on children.
