Governor Bredesen proclaims Playground Safety Week in Tennessee!
During April 26 through 30, we will be celebrating Playground Safety Week in Tennessee. Safe Kids Mid-South, led by Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center, is asking all child care centers, schools, parks, public facilities, neighborhood parks and backyards to assess playgrounds concentrating on: Supervision, Age-appropriate equipment, surFacing and Equipment maintenance. More than 200,000 children are injured on playgrounds in the United States every year, mostly during the summer months. We want to make a commitment to make sure that all of Tennessee's children will play on a safe playground. We want all kids to be SAFE!
