Follow Whitney Partin, CVICU patient care coordinator, at Le Bonheur, on a journey to heal little hearts in Nairobi, Kenya.

She and other members of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit team at
Le Bonheur will assist in the care of pediatric cardiac patients at the Nairobi Hospital.  This medical mission trip is sponsored by Children’s Heartlink and is scheduled for June 8 – 16.

During their stay, Whitney and the team will share their East African experiences while assisting in open-heart surgeries, providing post-operative cardiac intensive care and educating Kenyans about how to approach emergencies in cardiac intensive care.

Check back each day to see photos and read about the experiences of Whitney and the rest of Le Bonheur’s talent CVICU team (Dr. Antonio Cabrera, cardiac intensivist; Dr. Jeff Myers, cardiothoracic surgeon; Michelle Harris, RN and Crystal Hurt, RN) as they lend a helping hand 8,000 miles from home.
