Dr. Eunice Huang has joined Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center’s team of pediatric surgeons. She is a part of Pediatric Surgical Associates and a member of the University of Tennessee faculty.

“Dr. Huang brings a greater depth to the surgical program at Le Bonheur,” said Dr. Max Langham, Jr., chief of pediatric surgery for Le Bonheur. “Not only is Dr. Huang a skilled surgeon, she’s a wonderful person and colleague to physicians and clinicians in the hospital.”

Dr. Huang comes to Le Bonheur from LA County University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles where she served as chief administrative resident. She completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at Le Bonheur in 2004. She graduated from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and received her undergraduate degree from Yale University of psychobiology.

Dr. Huang plans to study anorectal dysmotility. “There are many unanswered questions about how to best care for these children,” said. Dr. Huang. “Pediatric anorectal dysfunction is not well understood.” Dr. Huang says she was drawn to Le Bonheur because of the hospital’s growth and the opportunity to pursue clinical research. In addition to GI dysmotility reseach, Dr. Huang has studied scar formation in children and neonates as a research fellow at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. “Understanding pathophysicology in scare formation could have several applications, including better care for burn patients,” she said.
