Associate Recognition
Jay Johnston Still

At Methodist Healthcare, we have some of the best Associates around. Their dedication to carrying out our mission and displaying the values of the organization is evident in their outstanding work. When individuals and teams perform above and beyond the call of duty, their actions may be rewarded with special recognition.

Power of One Award
We believe each member of our team has the power to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their family members. Those Associates who go above and beyond their daily duties to ensure the comfort and care of our patients demonstrate the Power of One in action. Honorees are given a gift in appreciation for a job well done and featured in our facility newsletters and bulletin boards.

Miracles in Motion Award
Once each quarter, our organization selects those Power of One Award winners who most inspire other Associates to emulate their actions in service and in care. These honorees are presented with a trophy and monetary award at our quarterly leadership meetings and recognized at the Methodist Healthcare Board of Directors meeting. Honorees are also featured in our system newsletter.
Inspiration Award
The Inspiration Award is presented annually to the Associate who most demonstrates our organizational values and mission. This award is a great honor within our organization. The winner of this award is selected from Miracles in Motion Award winners throughout the year, and they receive a trophy and monetary gift at our annual leadership conference. Inspiration Award winners are also recognized at the Methodist Healthcare Board of Directors meeting and featured in our system newsletter and in the local newspaper.
Service Awards
Dedication and commitment are worthy of reward, and we honor our Associates who have given Methodist Healthcare their loyal service over the years. Starting at year five, Associates receive recognition in five-year increments. Associate parties and gifts are tokens of our appreciation for these committed Associates.
Nursing Stars
To honor the excellent work of our nurses, Methodist hosts a yearly celebration during National Nurses Week in May. Appropriately named because of the way nurses shine as outstanding clinicians, our Nursing Stars are nominated by peers, nurse managers and patients. One nurse from each unit is chosen as Nursing Star, and from that pool, one Nurse of the Year is chosen for each facility.
 Miracle National Healthcare Week
All MLH Associates are recognized for their contribution to this organization during National Healthcare Week. Every facility plans events to recognize its Associates commitment to our core values: service, quality, integrity and teamwork.
Maurice Elliott Leadership Institute
When our Associates show excellent leadership skills and a willingness to be a leader in organizational improvement, we want to help them develop their potential. The Maurice Elliott Leadership Institute (MELI) is our way of doing so.

Taught at the University of Memphis, the two-week course is designed to increase middle management Associates' skills in leadership, service excellence, business acumen and interpersonal effectiveness. The course is taught by a mix of University of Memphis faculty, guest lecturers and Methodist Healthcare executives.
