While staying with us, you are encouraged to:

Feed your child

Ask for your child's favorite foods from your food and nutrition representatives

Go with your child for tests and procedures

Change diapers

Be with your child during stressful procedures, such as drawing blood

Bathe your child

Put your child to bed
You may take part in care giving even if your child is in isolation, receiving oxygen or being monitored by equipment. Your nurse can help answer questions about dealing with IVs, casts, traction or tubes.
Le Bonheur Child Life Department
Le Bonheur's Child Life Department can help you understand and support your child. Child Life has trained staff and hospital volunteers who plan activities such as bingo, and hold activities with games, toys and books. The Child Life playrooms are located on 5 West, 6 West and 7 West and are open during certain times each day. Check the calendar in your room for daily events. A teacher is here Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to

Your Concern for your Child's Care
If you have a concern regarding your child's care, please call the Patient Advocacy Department at (901) 287-6350. Patient Advocacy can answer your questions and provide phone numbers and addresses of state of Tennessee agencies for you to contact. For any complaints or grievances, you are not required to use our resolution process prior to speaking with any of these agencies.
