Approximately eight in every 1,000 children are born with a congenital heart defect, and Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center offers extensive services in this area. Cardiovascular services at Le Bonheur include evaluation and treatment of all forms of congenital and acquired heart disease, hypertension, cardiac rhythm disorders and other related pediatric cardiology diagnoses. The Cardiac Institute is the only pediatric cardiovascular program in the Mid-South, utilizing the skills of pediatric cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and a specially trained staff of pediatric experts.

Cardiothoracic Surgery
The cardiothoracic surgery program at Le Bonheur is one of the region's best. The surgeons have a broad level of expertise to provide neonate through adult congenital repairs.

Cardiology
The cardiology program Le Bonheur is also home to the region’s only certified fetal echocardiography technologist. This program will help cardiologists diagnose and treat heart conditions before they are even born.
