Le Bonheur Children's Hospital

Electrophysiology Services

Le Bonheur Children’s offers invasive and non-invasive clinical services for diagnosing and treating children with complex heart arrhythmias. Through telemetry, EKGs and Holter monitors, abnormal rhythms are diagnosed. The catheterization lab offers 3-dimensional mapping and navigation of the heart. These maps help to pinpoint the origin of abnormal rhythms, which are then destroyed. Le Bonheur Children’s is the first pediatric hospital in Tennessee to offer cryoablation in addition to radiofrequency ablation treat arrhythmias.

The electrophysiology program also offers the implantation and monitoring of pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillators. The devices are programmed according to the patient’s age and cardiac disorder.
