Beyond being a hands-on resource in the community, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare also provides substantial financial resources to a wide spectrum of organizations that impact the lives of Mid-Southerners. These include the Memphis/Shelby County Crime Commission, National Civil Rights Museum, NAACP, Memphis Food Bank and literally dozens of others.
Giving From Within
Outside Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s substantial corporate giving, Associates within the organization also provide both considerable financial support along with in-kind goods and services. These include nearly $500,000 annually for United Way, which is the largest per capita of any health system in the city, and $1.3 million raised by Methodist Le Bonheur Associates for the Le Bonheur capital campaign. The figure raised for the new Le Bonheur facility represents a tangible demonstration of our Associates’ commitment to our mission. On top of these contributions, nearly 2,600 Associates pledged over $380,000 for the Methodist Foundation Annual Fund Campaign. These funds are used to support Methodist Associates when they need help.
When taken as a whole, all the contributions to the community give a clear picture of what the people of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare are really about—from the board members to the caregivers. Within this organization there is a generosity of not just resources but also of spirit. A collective recognition that we were put here to make a difference every day, in any possible way we can, for our community.
