Sleep Disorders Center

Sleep. An essential part of life, health and happiness. Yet millions of people are deprived of this most basic function and suffer the debilitating effects. The Methodist Sleep Disorders Center, accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, is dedicated to alleviating the effects of sleep disorders and improving the sleeping lives of our patients.

A sleep disorder interferes with one’s ability to sleep normally. For many people, it is a chronic, nightly problem that can affect daytime behavior. Activities at work and school and relations with loved ones can be affected. A sleep disorder can worsen existing medical conditions, and it can also lead to new medical problems.

If you are already Methodist Sleep Disorders Center patient, please view Welcome to the Sleep Lab, an informative video on what to expect during a sleep study.

Sleep Disorder Indicators

How do you know if you have a sleep disorder? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, you may have a sleep disorder.

  • Do you snore?
  • Are you waking up at night or with headaches in the morning?
  • Do you fall asleep while driving, stopped at a red light?
  • Are you sleeping during the day?
  • Do you have high blood pressure or diabetes?

Use our Pre-Assessment/Screening form and discuss the questionnaire with your doctor to determine if you may have a sleep-related breathing disorder.

Treatments for sleep disorder can vary greatly from lifestyle and behavioral changes to physical or mechanical devices, medicine or even surgery. Our teams in the Memphis and Olive Branch Sleep Disorders Centers can help you identify your symptoms and find appropriate treatments.
