Research Research Associate. Henrie Lab. Union Univ. Dept. of Chemistry, Jackson, TN Adviser: Sally Henrie, PhD Performed a Taguchi analysis of an ester to carboxylic acid conversion in the synthesis of a branched chiral selector adsorbent for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

Research Assistant. Gopas Lab. Ben-Gurion Univ. Dept. of Microbiology-Immunology, Beer-Sheva, Israel Adviser: Jacob Gopas, PhD Isolated and characterized a NF-kB inhibitor from Nuphar lutea during the summer. Served as liaison between the chemistry, molecular bio and botany research groups throughout the year. Developed skills coordinating a multidisciplinary team, in HPLC, cell culture and in vivo murine studies using melanoma and respiratory syncytial virus infection models.

Clinical Fellow. The Cormier and Pierre Labs. UTHSC Dept. of Pediatrics, Memphis, TN Advisers: Stephania Cormier, PhD, Joseph Pierre, PhD and Ajay Talati, MD. Project 1: Quantified the RSV viral load in 30 neonatal BXD mouse strains and defined a qualitative trait locus that modulates RSV infection in neonatal mice using a genome-wide forward genetics study with David Siefker, PhD. Abstract presented at Immunology 2017. Project 2: Primary investigator of major fellowship project. *Part 1: Prospective, nested cohort study in VLBW neonates investigating the gut microbiome as a biomarker of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) development.
