Cystic Fibrosis Center
The University of Tennessee Cystic Fibrosis Care and Research Center
at Le Bonheur Children’s is one of the nation’s leaders in caring for children and adults with cystic fibrosis. We focus on addressing nutritional needs of children with cystic fibrosis – a factor that can help patients live longer.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center has a dedicated CF clinic at Le Bonheur and an outreach clinic in Tupelo, Mississippi. Clinic patients can see doctors, nurses, nutritionists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, social workers and pharmacists all in one visit. These experts work together to ensure your child gets the best care tailored to his/her condition. The Adult CF program provides CF care for adults and works with the pediatric team to assure a smooth transition from pediatric to adult care for adults with CF.
Our center is also a national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics Development Network Center, which means pediatric and adult patients have access to some of the newest cystic fibrosis therapies and research.
The cystic fibrosis team also works closely with the Mid south CF Patient and Parent Advisory Council to improve care and better educate families about the disease.
Sleep Disorders Center
The Pediatric and Adolescent Sleep Disorders Center at Le Bonheur is the only exclusively pediatric and adolescent sleep disorders laboratory in Tennessee that is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
Specialists in Pulmonary Medicine and Allergy-Immunology treat children in our high-risk asthma clinics. If needed, children have access to allergy skin testing, immunotherapy, pulmonary function testing and other specialists.
Le Bonheur also offers an annual summer camp, Camp Wezbegon, for children with asthma.
