LENA Webinar: Family Resiliency and Early Language ft. Dr. Jason Yaun

Innovative birth-to-three initiatives are increasingly viewing early language and interactions through a public health lens, intentionally coupling social determinants of health with preventive support for families as a community benefit. A particular and growing focus in pediatric settings is Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Bringing in expert perspectives from medical practitioners in the field, this webinar will explore how helping families to increase communication can help build family resiliency and protective factors.

During the webinar, we’ll explore:

  • Differing perspectives on how to take a public health approach with early childhood experiences
  • Opportunities and challenges associated with broadening the scope of pediatric care
  • What the hand-off to wrap-around supports for families can look like and lessons learned so far

Presenters Dr. Christopher Greeley and Dr. Jason Yaun will describe the work their healthcare institutions are doing in Houston and Memphis respectively, the nature of early-language and related initiatives, and the measurable results to date.
