Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital to Provide Neonatal Intensive Care at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital

Memphis, Tenn. - Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital is proud to announce an expansion of its partnership with West Tennessee Healthcare by becoming the new provider of care for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, beginning December 2025.

This transition will bring Le Bonheur’s expert pediatric NICU care closer to home for families across West Tennessee. Le Bonheur providers, including neonatologists, nurse practitioners, cardiologists, neurologists, ophthalmologists and other pediatric specialists, will begin staffing the hospital’s 42-bed, Level III NICU, ensuring the region’s most vulnerable newborns receive the highest level of care.

“This expansion reflects our shared mission with West Tennessee Healthcare to bring specialized care to children and families in this region,” said Le Bonheur President, Dr. Trey Eubanks. “By bringing Le Bonheur’s expertise directly into the NICU, we’re helping ensure that babies born in West Tennessee have the best possible start in life.”

Le Bonheur providers will staff the NICU, with current Jackson-Madison County General Hospital neonatologists and nurse practitioners transitioning to become Le Bonheur providers. Le Bonheur specialists will enhance care within the NICU, offering advanced services and seamless coordination for higher-level care when needed at Le Bonheur’s Level IV NICU in Memphis. NICU nurses and support staff will remain employees of West Tennessee Healthcare, continuing their dedicated service to families in the region.

Dr. Josefina Go, an established member of the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital team, will serve as the medical director for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Go received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine.

The addition of the NICU will add to Le Bonheur’s presence in Jackson and West Tennessee, including a 21-bed inpatient unit that opened in 2022 inside Jackson-Madison County General
