Diabetes Camps

There are several camps for children with diabetes in our region. Please see the list below for opportunities.

Camp Hopewell

Camp Hopewell in Oxford, Miss., offers three sessions for campers with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM). One of the great things for the camper is that living with diabetes is the norm for the week, so everyone counts carbs, checks blood sugars and tries to balance food, insulin, exercise and loads of fun! Campers are encouraged to develop age-appropriate responsibilities for maintaining their diabetes.

American Diabetes Associations Camp Sugar Falls

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) Sugar Falls is a fun 3-day/2-night getaway in Antioch, Tenn., for families who have a child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

This program allows families to connect with one another and develop friendships with other families who truly understand the challenges that T1D diagnosis presents. Weekend camps offer unique and informative discussions, learning and advice for families, teens and young adults.

Camp Sweeney

Camp Sweeney in Gainsville, Texas, is an 18-day camp for children with diabetes. Camp Sweeney’s mission is to build a family that can help to support campers through all of the highs and lows of T1DM. As campers support one another over the course of a session, they build friendships that are based in service – friendships they can count on long past the end of the summer.
