Diabetes Camps

There are several camps for children with diabetes in our region. Please see the list below for opportunities.

Camp Courageous Kids

Camp Courageous Kids is a week-long camp in Scottsville, Kentucky for kids ages 7-16 with diabetes whose mission is: Instilling inspiration and empowerment, while enhancing the lives of children with serious illnesses. A diabetes family retreat is also offered once a year!

For additional information: please contact Camper Admissions 270-618 2912 or bchandler@courageouskids.org.

Friends for Life Children with Diabetes Conference

“One of the most magical times for people with diabetes happens every year in July, with the annual Friends For Life® Conference hosted at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida." Participate in discussion groups, share your story, and help motivate and support others who walk in similar shoes.

Register online at www.childrenwithdiabetes.com.

Camp Hopewell

Camp Hopewell in Oxford, MS offers three sessions for campers with T1DM. One of the great things for the camper is that living with diabetes is the norm for the week, so everyone counts carbs, checks blood sugars, and tries to balance food, insulin, exercise and loads of fun! Campers are encouraged to develop age appropriate responsibilities for maintaining their diabetes.

Register online at www.camphopewell.com.

Camp Sweeney

Camp Sweeney in Gainsville, TX is an 18 day camp for children with diabetes. Camp Sweeney’s mission is to build a family that can help to support campers through all of the highs and lows of T1DM. As campers support one another over the course of a session, they build friendships that are based in service – friendships they can count on long past the end of the summer.

Camp Day2Day

Memphis Camp Day2Day is a lifeline for children with diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing this disease.
