Heart Institute earns Top 10 ranking

Le Bonheur Children’s Heart Institute was named a Top 10 center by U.S. News and World Report in its “Best Children’s Hospital” list this summer. It is the only pediatric heart institute in the Southeast to earn the honor.Badge-ChildrensHospitals-Cardiology-Year

The Top 10 ranking came just weeks after the Heart Institute was named a three-star center by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for the fourth-consecutive time. Le Bonheur is one of only 12 centers to earn the honor.

“We are committed to growing a program that focuses on quality and strong clinical outcomes – and are proud to earn these honors,” said Jeffrey Towbin, MD, executive co-director of the Heart Institute. “We’ll continue to push each other to improve care and advance our field.”

Towbin leads the Heart Institute with Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon Christopher Knott-Craig, MD.

Le Bonheur was also honored this past year as a Top Children’s Hospital by the independent Leapfrog Group, which awards hospitals for top quality outcomes.
