Some procedures do not require an extensive trip to the Operating Room. Many of these procedures, which can be painful or scary to your child, can be performed with sedation in the Starlight Room. We are committed to easing the pain, anxiety and fear of children during procedures. In the Starlight Room, your child will be in a safe, controlled environment with our anesthesiologists and specially trained nurses.
Some of the procedures performed in the Starlight Room include:
- Wound care
- Dressing change
- PICC placement
- Bone marrow aspiration
- Minor surgical procedures
