Black honored for service to AGA

The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) recognized Dennis Black, MD, for his contributions as chair of the Council Section on Obesity, Metabolism and Nutrition (OMN). More than 15,000 adult and pediatric gastroenterologists recently attended the 2018 Annual Digestive Disease Week meeting in June in Washington, DC sponsored by the AGA. For the past five years, Dr. Black has served as organizer for the obesity and nutrition programming for the annual meeting. Programming has included invited speaker sessions, state-of-the-art lectures, symposia and research abstract sessions on all aspects of obesity and nutrition in children and adults. Dr. Black’s service to the AGA was recognized with a plaque and certificate at the AGA Council Meeting. 

Dr. Black is the J.D. Buckman Professor of Pediatrics, CFRI Scientific Director and Le Bonheur Vice President for Research.
