Le Bonheur has almost 40 years of experience in pediatric transplant surgery. Our board certified surgeons perform liver and kidney transplants in association with The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute.
We’re home to the only pediatric liver transplant program in the Mid-South.
Our patients are followed by two transplant coordinators and a multi-disciplinary medical team from the initial referral to post-transplant follow-up. The team includes

- social workers
- nutritionists
- physical and occupational therapists
- child life specialists
Patients are cared for in the dedicated transplant unit or the pediatric intensive care unit.
A monthly support group meets at Methodist University Hospital and our families are encouraged to participate.
