Le Bonheur’s Comprehensive Spine Team and Medical Staff

Delivering world-class pediatric spine care takes a team of dedicated experts. Each member of our multidisciplinary team and our talented medical staff brings specialized knowledge and compassionate care to support your child’s journey. During your visits with our Spine Team and medical staff, you might have consultations with the providers listed below:

  • Orthopedic Surgeons: Pediatric orthopedic spine surgeons from Campbell Clinic who serve on our medical staff are leaders in diagnosing and treating spinal deformities such as scoliosis, kyphosis and other complex conditions. They perform both surgical and non-surgical interventions using the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Anesthesia: A team experienced in spine-specific techniques and postoperative pain management.
  • Neurosurgeons: Neurosurgeons focus on the delicate structures of the spinal cord and nerves. They collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons in cases involving tumors, tethered cords, or other neurologically complex spine conditions.
  • Neurologists: Neurologists help evaluate and manage neurological symptoms related to spine disorders. They play a key role in diagnosing underlying conditions and monitoring nerve function before and after treatment.
  • Pulmonologists: Children with severe spine deformities often have pulmonary (breathing) restrictions. Our team of pulmonologists with expertise in spine care is able to assess our patients preoperatively and assist in postoperative management.
  • Oncologists: For children with spine-related tumors or cancer, our oncology partners—especially through our affiliation with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—provide expert guidance on treatment plans that integrate spine care with cancer therapies.
  • Nurse Practitioners: We have dedicated in-hospital and clinical nurse practitioners who help coordinate your child’s care, provide education and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of your child’s spine condition.
  • Orthotics and Prosthetists: Our orthotists work closely with our pediatric spine surgeons to help navigate the process of treating your child’s scoliosis with a brace. Our team of experienced orthotists can offer a variety of brace options depending on your child’s condition.
  • Physical Therapists: Our physical therapists help children regain strength, mobility, and confidence. Whether recovering from surgery or managing a condition non-operatively, PTs are essential to restoring function and improving quality of life. We have dedicated physical therapists who are certified in the Schroth (Scoliosis Specific) Method Therapy. This is particularly helpful for children undergoing bracing for scoliosis, in addition to improving posture and increasing core strength.
